A fire broke out at the Abbey Woods apartment complex in Danbury, Conn., Monday morning.

DANBURY — Fire officials are investigating the cause of a Monday morning fire at an Abbey Lane apartment complex.
Firefighters responded to a fire alarm activation at the Abbey Woods apartment community around 7:05 a.m.
After responding crews reported fire showing from a second floor balcony, additional firefighters were called to the scene.
Firefighters traced the origin of the fire to a mechanical room and put the fire out by 7:32 a.m.
Maintenance and building officials were called in to deal with water damage caused by an activated sprinkler system, according to dispatch reports.
